The Mitchum Brothers

The Mitchum Brothers began singing as an organized trio in 1980.  The original group consisted of brothers David, Dean and Paul.  Over the years, other family members joined the group and, during the late 80's and early 90's, they were known as The Mitchum Family.  In June 2000, David, Paul and nephew Troy once again sang as The Mitchum Brothers.  When Troy married and moved from Central Florida in 2002, David and Paul joined with tenor Junior Combs as The Coastalmen.  Junior left in December 2003 and was replaced by Tim Webster.  The new group released their first single, God Is, in late 2004 with DJ Man Productions and received national airplay in major Christian markets around the country.  In October 2005, the decision was made to change their name back to The Mitchum Brothers.  Bass singer Chad Johns was added in early 2009, making the transition from trio to quartet.  They have performed with well-known Christian groups and soloists, as well as in numerous churches and concert stages around the country.

Paul Mitchum-Lead

The youngest of twelve siblings and singing almost as soon as he talked, Paul has an extensive musical background.  He has performed with various choral ensembles and has drama experience as well.  After attending college, Paul served in the Army, where he continued his ministry as a soloist and worship team member and leader.  Paul writes songs and shares arranging duties.  He and his family reside in Edgewater, FL.  Paul and his wife have two young sons and are very active in the Boy Scouts of America. They attend The WORD Center in Edgewater.

Tim Webster-Tenor

Tim brings a wealth of experience to the group. His father is George Amon Webster, formerly of The Cathedral Quartet, and he sang with his father for seven years as a member of The Heartland Boys Quartet and gained national acclaim as a tenor. Tim shares arranging duties with Paul and also handles the sound requirements during live performances. He and his wife have three sons. The Websters live in Deltona, FL and attend Deltona Lakes Baptist Church.

David Mitchum-Baritone

David is the older brother of Paul and the founding member of the group.  He has ministered as a soloist as well as being a member of the vocal ensemble, Rejoice.  He sang with George Amon Webster, Willie Wynn and Charles Lockhart in the Destiny Quartet.  David writes songs and serves in the capacity of group manager. He is married and lives in Edgewater, FL.  David has one married daughter and is the proud grandfather of a beautiful little girl. He and his wife attend Glencoe Baptist Church in New Smyrna Beach.

Chad Johns-Bass

Chad, the newest member of the group, began his singing ministry at the age of eight.  He is by no means a stranger to the gospel music community throughout Florida.  Before joining TMB, he sang with several well-known groups, including the Sonshine Harmony Boys, and Once Forgiven (with his family).  He also was a part of New Gathering Quartet, winners of the 2004 National Quartet Convention talent contest.  Chad lives in Avon Park, FL where he is a member of Florida Avenut Baptist Church.

The Mitchum Brothers’ desire is to spread the gospel through song and that lives would be changed in the process.  They do not take lightly the awesome responsibility of ministering in churches and on concert stages.  They realize that, for some, a Christian concert could be the first or last salvation message they receive.  With that in mind, their goal is to be willing vessels and examples of God’s gracious love and mercy.
